The Wrestler

I saw the movie, “The Wrestler” the other day. It was utterly depressing and real and I loved it. Mickey Rourke did a fantastic job. I don’t think they could have picked a better guy for the roll. I was totally in love with  Randy “The Ram” Robinson ” because he was stuck in the 80’s. I was left liking the guy but saying to myself, “you did this to yourself man, your priorities are wacked” They guy was living in a trailer and spending tons of money on steriods, tanning, hair dye…OMG it was totally awesome.  Mickey Rourkes body was amazing for anyone’s age but the dude is 52 yers old.

I gotta say that this movie wont’ be for everyone. It was a raw filming style. One feels as if he or she is litterally following the characters with a camera. The shooting is done with a lot of hand held cameras which is perfect for the feel of the movie. So any of you people who have been spoiled with “the Matrix” camera effect and angles and you can’t stand realism this movie is not for you. The viewer is left to enterpret the ending as he or she wishes. So if you are a moron and need to have every single thing explained to you to following anything ( I.E. if you like the mission impossible movies) then the Wrestler will probably not be for you. Again this movie was depressing but it was so real. It was a roller coaster in the theatre. I was laughing, I was crying, I was bored at moments but then something awesome would happen…like they’d play some really bad 80’s music, or Marisa Tomei would show some boobs (her body was insane and her played her character flawlessly). I hope this movies wins all the awards for which it was nominated.I’m so happy that Mr. Rourke will be appearing in Several movies coming out in 2010. I hope the best for him in his career.
