I’m Coming Home

I’m at the airport right now it’s its rather dead. I have time to sit down and blog about my week. I have to blog now because I know as soon as I get home, I will be occupied with family obligations and unable to think and/write. I had a very eventful week and I must say, I am impressed with how well I handeled everything and how well I preformed given that I had many strenuous jobs on my roster for the week.

My week Started on Friday when I flew up to Kink to shoot the remainder of the Hogtied feature with Gia Demarco. The feature will be realeased in a few weeks. Its a crossover of Ultimate Surrender and Hogtied. I think this will be fun for a lot of fans. The footage of the wreslting Gia and I did is not from an actual match so Please do not email me asking when that match will be updated, it was shot purely entertainement and footage for the Hogtied feature.

After Gia dominated me for the hogtied shoot ( which was pretty brutal, one of the toughest shoots I’ve ever done) I hopped on a plane and headed to Vegas to shoot for the good folks at WeBringIt.com. My time in Vegas was pretty busy, when I wasn’t shooting for WBI, I was shooting for other production companies. There were days when I shot from 9:30am to 1:00 am and all of it was really physical stuff. Chantel Lace came up to Vegas to shoot for WBI as well and she is re-opening www.bad-apple.com which is a topless boxing site. So between catfights and boxing matches my forearms are killing me. When  I was done shooting for Bad-Apple, I rushed over to my friend house and shot some Ball Busting for one company and some MMA domination for another company. This is no joke, this was the real deal. I was exhausted by the end of my trip in Vegas. But Vegas wasn’t the end of it. I flew from Vegas to Oakland and performed in a tournament for www.ufglive.com and had to go against some pretty tough opponents, including Isamar Gutierrez. It was a hard core matchup for the tournament. I was spent but that wasn’t the end of my work week. I had one tag team match for Ultimate Surrender last night. I did phenominal, I was very proud of my performance. We had a great showing with lots of great audience members. I had a great time. I will post more about it as the updates go up.

So today I fly home. I set a new record of how many matches I shot in a week. I believe I did 27 matches/video this week alone. I can not wait to get into my own bed and go to my gym and get a real weight work out in. it’s silly that

Thank you for the Hot Pants off my Wishlist

Life out of a Suit Case

I’ve been living out of a suitcase pretty much for a week now. I flew into San Francisco to shoot a really amazing scene with Gia Demarco for Hogtied on Friday the 20th. Immediately after that shoot I flew into Vegas to work with webringit.com. I have been flying back and forth between San Fran and Vegas for various jobs. I’m not complaining but it’s taken a toll. I think this week I have set a new record for myself on how many matches I have shot in a week. I believe I’m at 23 already. 17 was my record when I went to London. All the matches shot for www.webringit.com were competitive. I’m not nearly as sore as I thought I would be, definitely not as bad as went to London but then again, I am not traveling 18 hours in a day either.

Tonight I’m staying at a crappy hotel in Oakland, preparing for a small, private tournament that will take place in the Bay Area tomorrow. I’m ready to kick ass but I’m also very ready to go home. Tomorrow’s tournament isn’t the last thing on my list for this week yet. I still have a tag team match for Ultimate Surrender this Friday the 27th. It will be live online so please check it out. It is to be my first tag team match since my surgery and my partner is the lovely Beretta James ( who I destroyed in this week’s update). Thank GOD she’s my team mate and not my opponent. I’m sure she’s “gunning” for me after what I did to her LOL…get it…Beretta…gunning ha hah….okay I’m tired and delirious give me a break sheesh!!

ANY FART!!!

I’m sitting in this dingy hotel room with the heater on and it made me soooooo happy that I could control the heater. The last week I was bunking with several other people and I like to be a good guest so I don’t like to just barge in and make things the way that only I like it. So I kept myself warm with big socks and jackets cause I know I always get cold and I didn’t want the rest of the crew to suffer in a hot hotel room.

I have decided that I really really really really hate sharing a place with a roommate. I hate having to pretend I’m a tidy traveler casuse I’m not. When I’m on the road I like to toss my crap everywhere and leave it there until I see fit. At my home I am very clean but on the road I have no desire to keep a hotel room tidy but I don’t like to be a complete slob in front of a roommate. So I was forced to not spread my belongings all over the condo/hotel and NOT leave stuff laying around and this I did not like. So tonight I am in my very own room and my stuff is tossed in as many regions of the room as I could find and it some how feels really good. The Heater is blasting and I am not bundled up in big socks or a jacket. I’m watching Netflix on my laptop and I don’t have to wear flipp’n headphones!!!! If I have to travel and be away from my family, I think I like it best when I’m alone sigh…I got it off my chest. There it is.

Just a few more matches and a few more days of being tied up and molested by hot chicks for my training of O shoot. sigh. I can see the light at the end of the tunnel. I will finally be back in my own, tidy home Feb 4th. I have been shooting from 9am til 1am some days. I’ve been busy folks. If I’m not active on the blog for a while or on facebook or twitter or even responsive via email it’s cause I’m flippin tired…end of story.

Ultimate Surrender with Beretta James

I did my first US shoot since my surgery. I was put up against a really beautiful girl names Berretta “the pistol” James. She looked almost exactly like Shannyn Sossamon. Barretta was really impressive. She’s a small girl but very strong. She reminds me a little of myself. I was one of the smaller girls on the roster years back but I had deceptive stregth. Berretta is the same way. She may not look strong but she really is.

I really enjoy working with the new girls at US. My favorite kinds of matches are more competitive matches but working with new girls lets me do a couple of things; I get to practice more new moves and it allows me to teach girls which actually forces me to somewhat reinforce the knowledge into my brain.  I sometimes wish I didn’t bother showing girls some things, not because I don’t want them to learn but because some of these girls are one hit wonders. They will do the site one time, decide it’s not for them and then never show up again. I feel like I waste a lot of passion and energy when I train some people. Thankfully a lot of the girls do want to be there and want to get better. Berretta was one of those girls who had a fire in her eye and really wanted to be there. In between rounds I showed her some basic stuff, like use of under hooks and single take downs and double and basic wrist control. She picked up a  a lot of the few things i did show her. I was rather proud of her. However, I couldn’t let my student upshow me so I had to make her work very hard. I never give away points. Girls need to earn them. She did very well but this is a rookie and I am pretty amazing at what I do LOL. enjoy these stills and to see the entire match please click my affilate link. xoxoxo Round 4 had a lot of campy sex play and awesome lift and carries, make sure to check it out

Matt Hughes Seminar at BJMUTA

One of the benefits of training at a world class gym owned by one of the more famous and respected refs in the UFC is being able to attend in house seminars being held by some of the worlds greatest fighters .  BJMUTA was able to book Matt Hughes to do a Seminar on January 14th, 2012. I attended this seminar with my little brother, who I have gotten into training for about 6 months now. The Seminar was small with about 20 attendees. It was advertised to only gym members and it was a great honor to have such an intimate seminar with one of the greatest most well rounded fighters ever to hit the Octogon. I am a huge MMA fan. My dad and uncle have tought Karate for over 40 years. I have great respect for marital artists, wrestlers, boxers, kick boxers or any other kind of fight discipline I can list. I admire not only their physical strength but also their mental strength to be able to get into the fight but also to constantly strive to better themselves.

Matt Hughes impressed me greatly after the seminar during the meet and great when he started asking the attendees of the seminar what we would have liked to see differently in the seminar. No only does the guy constantly want to improve his fights but he’s constantly trying to improve himself as a trainer/coach/teacher. The guy is always looking to be better at everything and anything he does. This is what I admire most in a human being, someone who is constantly trying to better themselves in any way possible. It’s contagious and if we all strive to be better then we will touch 2 people and make them strive to be better and those two people will touch two people and those people will strive to be better and then they will touch 2 people and so on and so on and soon the whole world is being molested to strive to be better people. It’s beautiful.

The first thing Matt Hughes said when he got onto the mats was “Circle up and get in close! Now what I’m going to show you guys today has been shown to me by someone else. I haven’t made up any of these moves. Everything I’ve learned, I’ve learned from someone else.” These were such humble words. It set the tone for the entire 2 hour seminar. Hughes was constantly giving credit to his corner men, coaches, training partners and competitors. He was praising everyone he’s ever worked with and was acknowledging how much his game improved while working with certain people. Hughes is a hall of fame-er, a lot of people know who he is…even people who don’t really follow UFC, know who Matt Hughes is.  The guy is the creme of the crop and yet wouldn’t take much credit for what he earned. He was constantly paying homage  to the people in his camp who worked with him for his fights. He had nothing but the utmost respect for other fighters and trainers. I was absolutely in awe of his positivity and humility.

So now that I’ve covered his personality, let me get on to the meat and potatoes…..what did Matt Hughes teach us at our seminar? The seminar was an MMA seminar. He covered a lot of things in a very short period of time. He started with basic stuff, explaining advantages of being on top, differences of open guard and closed guard and what his preferences were and why. If on the bottom, Hughs likes to keep an open guard so that he doesn’t telegraph any moves he’s planning. It’s a very smart strategy and I’m going to steal his idea…no more closed guard for me. If you don’t know what guard is, you can take Matt’s next Seminar LOL…

Moving forward, Hughes showed us several mean elbows to throw from the top and from the bottom. He showed us effective Punching techniques from inside the guard. He Demonstrated his favorite guard pass. He showed several key locks and key lock counters. He showed knee bars and crucifixions and and insane counter to an arm bar with another armbar!  He showed take downs and take down defenses. Yes yes yest this was a fast paced seminar but as Hughs said he just gave us the foundation and it was up to us to drill it in front of our coaches over and over and over so we could perfect them. Luckily, some of the moves he had showed us, I had drilled a few times so I wasn’t completely lost. The greatest part about the seminar was the fact that there were only a few people in the class and Hughs was able to go to each group and give one on one advice and adjustments to every single person. Not only did he adjust what we were doing but he gave great explanation as to why it’s done the way he was showing us. His teaching style matched my learning style. I was able to retain much of what he was showing because he explained things so well. He gave us some insight into what a fighter thinks going into a fight. He explained why you always see a flurry at the end of the round and how important it is to leave the judges with a good impression of your performance in the last 30 seconds of the round. ( take his seminar if you wanna get the details)

At the end of the seminar, a young kid was asked to demonstrate his take downs on Matt Hughes. This young kid was about 10 years old and all of 80 lbs. Obviously Matt Hughs is a much bigger guy, 5’10 and competites at 170lb and off seasons he’s probably 185….he’s a big bad dude. Matt told the young kid, “if you do what you’re supposed to do, correct form and all, I’ll give you the take down, but I’m not gonna just give it to you, you’re gonna have to earn it”. The determined child lunged into Hughs, got his doubles and pushed Hughs with all his might not even budging him at first…..Hughes saw the determination and fire in the kids eye and then made himself light enough for the kid to push and push and push and eventually “get the take down”….the look on the kids face was priceless. He got to stand with one of the greatest wrestlers in the world and do a drill. It was one of the most playful and pure things I’ve ever sense. He made that kid sooo happy and praised the kid for being tenacious enough to keep trying even thought there was really no way he would ever really take him down. That was awesome. He boosted that kid’s spirit and I bet that kid grows up to be the next great UFC hall of fame-er. I had great respect for Hughs Before but it’s been multiplied tenfold after meeting him and learning both skills and  humility from him!
